Perhaps the real emprise here is our undertaking of documenting all of our souvenirs! This is the first of hopefully many future posts containing the odds, ends, bits, bobbles, and otherwise wonderful oddities that we (my wife Terrasa and I), collect on our lifelong adventure. We have a trunk sized drawer filled with such ephemera, so there will surely be many more posts to come.
Today's item is really a collection within a collection. Many times, when travelling, we come across these flattened penny machines. Sometimes in a rather grand setting (The Royal Ontario Museum), and sometimes more mundane (the New Jersey turnpike), but they are wonderful momentos of travel. Just going through these to scan them, we were reminded of how lovely a day our trip that brought us to the National Geographic center in Washington DC was.
